The day was also filled with activities for youth. There was fish printing, canoeing, face painting and virtual fishing. A free lunch was also provided.
Generous local businesses donated money, prizes and food for the festival.
In order to be eligible for prizes, each child had to first fill a card with "water wizard" stickers. To earn a sticker to put on their card they had to successfully answer a watershed related question presented at each exhibit.
The grand prizes were:
- A canoe trip on Occohannock Creek for up to eight people.
- A plane trip over the Eastern Shore watershed for two people
- An original watercolor painting by a popular local artist, Don Sparrow.
- A kayak trip for two.
- A pair of birding binoculars.
